Did I try everything?

I think not, but I have tried a lot of things and treatments. In the previous post I mentioned a lot about Vinohradská hospital, but I have visited more hospitals and doctors.

I did mentioned earlier that I was regularly tested in endocrinology departments. I gave blood samples almost everywhere for various tests but I am still pretty healthy. So nothing in my blood.

You might have heard of MUDr. Jan Hnízdil, he has quite a big name among holistic medicine doctors. It was worth a try. Even though he did not see any malfunction, he thought that I might have hypothyroidism (low activity of the thyroid gland) so I started to take some pills. After a half a year, nothing changed, so we gave up on that. He also advised me to go to psychotherapy sessions with Mgr. Štěpničková. Great woman, I enjoyed our sessions even though they were not in the traditional way. I went to psychotherapy sessions for about half a year, it was a bit expensive and I still don't know if there are any psychological causes for my illness or not.

I tried traditional Chinese medicine but I do not really trust these things, so that might have been why it didn't work for me. I went to acupuncture for one year; that was actually very relaxing and a good feeling. The doctor also gave me a little hammer with spikes to tap on my head for better blood circulation in the hair. It felt a lot like self-harming and unfortunately did not work for me either. There is actually one treatment using blood circulation called mesotherapy and it is quite expensive so I haven’t tried it yet.

I visited one private hair clinic and it was a disappointment. After a trichoscopy test they told me that my hair will never grow back because the hair roots are dead. Up to that time I was still thinking that it will grow back again one day. After this, I was really sad and hopeless but it did not break me because they were wrong. Of course, I had to pay for the test, so right now I am really angry that I went there because some of my hair has grown back. In Prague there are more clinics like this but I have heard from other alopecia patients that they had the same experience. In my opinion, you can get very good treatment from the public health system.

With all of this I have also tried some self-treatment with pharmaceutical cosmetics like Aminexil cure from Vichy. It is not a cheap cosmetics either and by that time nothing was helping me, neither did this. I would like to try it now with some hair having grown back. I have tried Plantur shampoo and now I am using VichyDercos Energising shampoo and Serioxyl serum from L'Oréal Professionnel.
